Transport component in economic development of the region: A comparative analysis

Abstract. New approaches to the evaluation of regional transport component indexes and the transport development level and potential have been considered. A relative transport development index reflecting both the value of regional gross domestic product and average index of transport component in Russia has been introduced. The expediency of additional indexes involvement in the investment decision making process has been validated.
