On systematization of Y and REE carbonates
Abstract. Data on crystalline structures of Y and REE carbonates allow one to carry out the crystal chemical analysis and to classify them according to structural-geometrical features. Studying the crystalline models of Y and REE carbonates in the context of evolution of three main polymorphic modifications of РЎР°РЎРћ3: vaterite, calcite and aragonite, it is possible to create all known structures of Y-REE carbonates or fragments of their crystalline structures. There are four groups in these minerals distinguished by the type of atom coordination of Y and REE by (CO3) groups. An experience of classification of Y-REE carbonates may be used in crystal chemical analysis of similar minerals of other classes.
