Study of stress concentration in some critical parts of hydraulic machines

Abstract. The paper considers results of experimental study of stress concentration in the blade guide vane of reversible hydraulic machines and blades of Kaplan turbines. The values of stress concentration factors and stress distribution in typical cross sections of parts have been obtained. Approximate analytical methods of calculation being in good agreement with experimental data have been proposed. The recommendations for improving the design have been given.
