The methodological approach to assessment of chemical weathering intensity of stockpiled mineral raw materials

PDFRead

Abstract. A methodological approach has been developed in order to make assessment of chemical weathering intensity of stockpiled mineral raw materials with computer modeling. The hydrophysical and thermal physical properties of minerals from stockpiles of the Kola mining industrial complex have been investigated. The feasibility of biogeobarrier for chemical weathering reduction for mineral raw materials of stockpiles from mining has been validated.

Keywords: reuse of mining wastes, mineral raw materials, chemical weathering, equilibrium composition, biogeobarrier, basic hydrophysical characteristic, thermal capacity, thermal conductivity, computer physical-chemical modeling
