Numerical modelling of dusting processes in ANOF-2 tailings impoundment

Abstract. The paper considers issues related to study of multi-dispersed admixture transfer processes raised by wind current. Basing the 2D numerical CFD-model the influence of dusting surface height on the atmosphere surface layer downstream at dusting intensity variation has been evaluated. It has been shown that at dusting surface height growth the significant increase (from 50 % to 150 %) of contaminant concentrations in the atmosphere is predicted. The authors have come to the conclusion that full-scale 3D modelling study is required.
