Problems of nature use management and ecological protection in Russian Arctic

PDFRead

Abstract. Present marine activity in Arctic is carried out on the background of climatic changes that affect already the Northern Sea Route exploitation and the state of marine ecosystems. However, climatic and ecological scenarios for the near decades are indeterminate. Taking this into account the nature use management must be based on the complex monitoring including the tracing of climatic and anthropogenic impacts on the marine environment, demographic and socio-economic processes. To achieve the goals determined by Marine Doctrine of Russian Federation and Strategy of Arctic Zone development it is necessary to optimize the fundamental and applied Arctic researches. It should be one of the tasks of the Russian Academy of Sciences reform.
