Hydrodynamic processes in self-pumping sliding bearing

Abstract. In the paper the results of the tests of self-pumping stern tube sliding bearing have been considered. It has been established that the pressure in the diametrical plane of the bearing top part remains practically constant though the frequency of rotation is increasing. In each lateral pocket the cavities of pumping and sucking are formed. When the direction of rotation is changed, these cavities interchange the position.
