The stressed state of rocks in the upper crust from the in-situ measurements at the mines near SG-3
Abstract. Elastic wave velocities in rock deep samples with increasing loads from barometric pressure to 600 MPa and temperature to 600В° C have been determined. Experimentally determined velocities in situ correlate well with the data of vertical seismic profiling performed in the Kola Superdeep Borehole. The correlation between these data will be more complete if the velocity anisotropy of rocks in situ is taken in consideration.
