Comparison characteristics of elastic properties of rock samples from Outokumpu, the Finnish borehole

PDFRead

Abstract. Analyses of structural-textural rock peculiarities as well as characteristics of inclination and thickness of members, beds and jointings in the Kola Superdeep Borehole section have been presented. Two main geodynamic types of rocks have been established – rocks formed in the crushing zones and those formed in the zones of interface of structural stages and rock accumulation under the stable platform conditions. A preliminary analysis of structural-textural rock peculiarities and their physical properties will allow preventing complications related to the borehole distortion in deep and superdeep wells.
