Abstract. The characteristic of areal distribution and the age intervals of the basic magmatism shows in the Phanerosoic is given according to the analysis results of the marine geological-geophysical data of the Barents-Kara region and the geological materials of the land and insular frame. The main stages of the tectonic-magmatic activization are connected with Silurian – Early Devonian, Late Devonian – Early Carboniferous, Late Permian – Triassic, Middle Jurassic – Cretaceous, Palaeogene and Quaternary period. The average duration of the basic magmatism stages is about 30 Ma without taking into account of the Quaternary shows, being separated by its absence periods with the duration mainly of 60-70 Ma. Genetic nature of the basic magmatism is stipulated by the processes of epicontinental rifting.
